FUTURE CNC ONSITE
Paving the way for the future CNC Onsite
The past few years, CNC Onsite has experienced an increasing growth in both revenue and employees. Therefore, the company is paving the way to accommodate their market potential within onsite machining and repair solutions for the wind industry.
As a result of the growing potential, the company has felt a natural desire to create and develop an even larger business, leading to several organizational, product and human resource changes and initiatives to prepare the company for the future.
Enhancing the product focus
The past years, the company has been extremely successful with designing and building custom up-tower -, flange – and blade repair machining solutions.
Today, the demand for onsite repairs and custom machines within the three main areas have increased rapidly and is the main reason for the great success that CNC Onsite experiences.
The onsite repair and machining solutions offers customers several valuable advantages e.g.:
Reduced downtime.
Improved total economy.
Lifetime extension of the wind turbine.
Sustainability.
Furthermore, the company has started to focus on training customer-employees to handle the machines themselves – a training that takes place in their own facilities in Vejle, Denmark, which increases flexibility and minimizes travel expenses.
Preparing the organization
With the growing market potential and the increased interest in their custom repair and machining solutions for the wind industry, CNC Onsite has been working on preparing the company for the future.
To improve the communication and coordination processes and maintain an efficient project execution and high quality in their deliveries, CNC Onsite has restructured some crucial internal processes and areas of responsibility:
”We are well-known for delivering high quality solutions and services. Therefore, we’ve implemented structural changes within our organization to address any bottlenecks that might hinder our ability to uphold this level of quality in the future.. This is an essential element in maintaining our relations and being able to handle the increasing demand”, states Søren Kellenberger, Sales Director at CNC Onsite.
To avoid these bottlenecks, CNC Onsite has, among other initiatives, delegated responsibility to more employees e.g., within project management and machine development, taking full charge of the project planning and coordination with customers and employees.
Securing the culture
With more orders, the need for more employees emerges, and in a short amount of time, CNC Onsite has grown the workforce from 15 to nearly 40 employees.
CNC Onsite has recently started their journey towards defining their identity, their core values, and their culture. As a small company it is something that “has always been there”, explains Aage Dam, CEO of CNC Onsite, and continues to describe the identity as something that has been very easy to pass on to new employees, because the employees have been sitting across from each other and communicated on a daily basis.
However, as the company is growing, they experience the need to focus more on their identity and to start writing down their narrative and core values:
“As we are growing as a company, it has been more and more difficult to tell the story to new employees and if we are going to onboard more people in our company, we need to be aware of our story, our core values, and our culture”, states Aage Dam.
To accommodate the market potential, CNC Onsite is looking into a future with a growing workforce. By taking their identity serious and making an effort to define their core values, the company is well on its way towards preserving the culture at CNC Onsite and securing their reputation, when growing into a larger company:
“So far, we have been able to attract highly skilled employees. A lot of people find our company and our projects interesting and are very much motivated to work in an environment where technical skills and adaptability are key and with a variety of tasks. Furthermore, we have a great reputation within the industry, which of course makes it easier to attract the right employees – a reputation which we would like to nurture and maintain”, concludes Hans Løvlund Toft, CTO at CNC Onsite.
Thereby, the interview with the management team at CNC Onsite comes to an end and there is no doubt that the company is far into the process of paving the way to continue their successful journey. CNC Onsite has taken the organizational change seriously and formulated a strategy in word and actions to prepare for market growth. The strategy has led to improved organizational processes, an enhanced product focus and initiatives for cultural preservations.
