CUSTOM SOLUTIONS

PROTOTYPES

Custom-built CNC machine for wind turbine repair.

Tailored solutions can prove to be effective in situations where a repair needs to be carried out repeatedly. We offer prototypes prior to the final development of the machine, ensuring proof of concept and solution safety. We do it efficiently and precisely ebabling you to start repairing your wind turbines as quickly as possible.

We have a stock of components that we use as building blocks to assemble a prototype, which can be ready for testing in just 14 days. The efficient development of the prototype allows us to validate the solution within a very short time, providing all parties with a quick and realistic insight into the functionality of the machine. This enables us to collaboratively define the final specifications and pricing of the solution.

There are numerous benefits in investing in a prototype test before committing to repetitive machining tasks. With our extensive stock of building blocks, we can assemble a prototype ready for testing in just 14 days. In a very short amount of time, thus providing us with the necessary results, enabling us to collaboratively create certainty about whether the machine can solve the problem. This means that the development process for the final machine is shortened, allowing you to start repairing your wind turbines even faster.

The development of prototypes also yields other benefits. The efficient testing allows us to concurrently focus on other aspects of the solution, including the handling of the machine in the nacelle, lifting equipment from ground to tower, testing space constraints, and other factors that may affect the efficiency of the machining. This ensures a comprehensive and effective machining solution.

Thereby, the prototype does not only provide cost certainty and increase the success rate of the repair but optimize the process time and reduces downtime on your wind turbines as well. It’s a long-term investment that create value from start.

SECURITY IN THE SOLUTION

A prototype establishes proof of concept for the machine that we believe can solve your challenge. The prototype test is typically completed within 14 days, providing you with a quick assurance that the machine can solve your challenge.

PRICING

A prototype test provides us with a precise understanding of the functionality we need to incorporate into the machine to address the specific challenge. Therefore, we can quickly price the final machine.

BASIS FOR DECISION

The prototype also provides you with  insight into your return on investment when investing in a customized machine to solve your challenge faster and more efficiently, considering both reduced downtime and optimized process time. Thereby, a prototype offers valuable insights, allowing you to make the best possible decision for your investment.

FAST IMPLEMENTATION

We customize our solutions using existing building blocks, making it possible to shorten the development process and thus ensure a faster implementation of the machine. The fast development process allows you to start repairing your wind turbines as quickly as possible

PROCESS

FROM CHALLENGE TO SOLUTION

Inquiry

Customers approach CNC Onsite with an issue they need to solve. Usually, they’ve encountered this problem across multiple wind turbines and are seeking a solution that is capable of executing the machining task repeatedly.

Planning
3D design for a customized repair solution.

Based on the inquiry, we propose a solution that we believe can solve the issue. We have a variety of building blocks on hand, which we can assemble into a prototype ready for testing within 14 days.

Prototype testing
Prototype being tested for functionality and performance.

The customer accepts the solution, and we are ready to conduct a prototype test. In collaboration with the customer, we clarify the framework for the prototype test, after which the test is carried out, providing clarity on whether the solution can handle the task within the required tolerances and speed. The prototype provides valuable insights into how the machine operates in practice and the amount of time the machine use to carry out a repair.

Final specifications
Reviewing a quality assurance checklist.

Based on the information gathered from the prototype test, we formulate the final specifications for the machine. The specifications takes the desired process time for the repair, the context in which the machine will operate, as well as the customer’s investment into consideration. We provide the customer with professional consultancy to ensure the customer gets the most optimal and effective solution to solve the specific issue.

Development & implementation

Once the specifications are in place, we provide our customer with a price for a complete solution. The price includes the delivery time for a fully developed machine ready for Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) and Site Acceptance Test, and subsequently handover. Upon acceptance of the price, we initiate the process.

Handover

The format of the repair is clarified in the initial stages, as the customer decides whether the repair should be carried out by technicians from CNC Onsite, if they prefer to perform the repairs themselves, or if it should be done collaboratively.

If the customer wishes to handle the repairs on-site, we train their employees to operate the machine.

Various add-ons to the machine may arise during the process or along the way, as additional needs emerge. This could include ongoing maintenance of the machine, further training of employees, support agreements, or additions to the delivery that streamline the process.
